Additional remarks
The Arrow needs no formal introduction but is a family of four-seat light aircraft built by Piper Aircraft and designed for flight training, air taxi and personal use. The PA28 family of aircraft comprises all-metal, unpressurised, single-engined, piston-powered airplanes with low-mounted wings and tricycle landing gear. They have a single door on the right side, which is entered by stepping on the wing.
Production of the Piper PA28 began in 1961 and has been continuous since then. In 1979, the Arrow was restyled as the PA-28RT-201 Arrow IV, featuring a “T” tail.
N987DC is a four-place, retractable landing gear landplane featuring a turbocharged Continental TSIO-360-FB engine of 200 hp (149 kW) and gross weight 2,900 lb (1,315 kg). It was first certified in November 1978.
